L’opera, realizzata rispettando proporzioni auree descrive, al di là del tempo e dello spazio, il concepimento di Gesù nel seno di Maria.

 

In alto a sinistra, la mano di Dio invia l’angelo Gabriele, dipinto sotto forma di una piccola spirale, presso Maria ad annunciare l’Avvento del redentore.

Essa, raffigurata seduta sull’Arca dell’alleanza tra i due cherubini, contempla la mano del Signore, mentre raggi di luce vibranti raggiungono la sua fronte scomponendo e rigenerando ogni fibra del suo corpo.

 

L’artista Adolfo Magnelli ha inteso pittoricamente descrivere la vergine Maria nel suo rappresentare essa stessa l’Arca, avendo accolto in sé Gesù, colui che incarna la nuova ed eterna alleanza tra Dio e gli uomini.

 

Dietro di lei una cornice in oro, arricchita da volute che paiono muoversi per rinnovarsi in un continuo divenire, plasmate e intrise della luce dell’Altissimo, adorna uno specchio simboleggiante sia la coscienza umana che accoglie e riflette la Divina luce, che l’autocoscienza; il divenire coscienti di essere coscienza.

 

Esso appare riflettere solo Sé stesso e la Divina luce, in quanto nulla risiede nascosto nell’animo dell’immacolata, libera dal peccato, anche da quello originale fin dal primo istante del suo concepimento.

The work, created respecting golden proportions, describes, beyond time and space, the conception of Jesus in Mary's womb.

On the top left, the hand of God sends the angel Gabriel, painted in the form of a small spiral, to Mary to announce the Advent of the Redeemer.

She, depicted seated on the Ark of the Covenant between the two cherubs, contemplates the hand of the Lord, while rays of vibrant light reach her forehead, breaking down and regenerating every fiber of her body.

The artist Adolfo Magnelli intended to pictorially describe the Virgin Mary in her representation of the Ark herself, having welcomed into herself Jesus, the one who embodies the new and eternal covenant between God and men.

Behind her, a gold frame, enriched with scrolls that seem to move to renew themselves in a continuous becoming, shaped and imbued with the light of the Most High, adorns a mirror symbolizing both the human conscience that welcomes and reflects the Divine light, and self-awareness; becoming aware of being consciousness.

​

It appears to reflect only Itself and the Divine light, as nothing resides hidden in the soul of the Immaculate, free from sin, even from the original one from the first moment of her conception.
