Un abbigliamento ricco di simboli e di potere, uno sfondo simbolico, per comunicare leadership e saggezza, come del resto la loro postura regale. Queste sono alcune delle regole comuni che il Maestro Adolfo Magnelli ha cercato di suggellare in questo dipinto rappresentante Alarico primo, re dei Visigoti, celebre per avere effettuato il sacco di Roma, per poi morire a Cosenza, sepolto, secondo alcune leggende, insieme al suo tesoro sotto il letto del fiume Busento.

In alto sulla destra si percepisce una cicogna con le ali aperte, simbolo per antonomasia di fertilità e protezione, nonché di maternità e fecondità nell’atto di cingere con il suo becco un serpente, antico simbolo spesso associato alla trasformazione, alla rinascita e al mistero.

Un poliedro di colore bianco levita ruotando su sé stesso rappresenta, con le sue tante facce acuminate, i cambiamenti e gli eventi che caratterizzano la realtà fenomenica.

In basso, una donnola osserva attentamente uno o più soggetti non dipinti del quadro, intensificando ancor più l’alone di mistero che l’artista Magnelli ha inteso trasmettere.
